Abstract:
Currently, 116 valid species, and one valid subspecies of the genus Myrmecina Curtis,1829 are known from Neotropical, Nearctic, Oceania, Palearctic, Indomalayan, and Australasia realms. Herein Myrmecina lugsawuti sp. nov. and Myrmecina siamensis sp. nov. are described from Thailand, based on the workers and dealate queen. Both new species inhabit highland areas (>1,300 m a.s.l.) and nest in decaying twigs in leaf litter. A taxonomic key to the known Thai species of this genus is provided.
