New data on the distribution and ecology of Myrmica ravasinii Finzi, 1923 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae)

Abstract:
Myrmica ravasinii Finzi, 1923 was formerly recorded from Balkans, Greece, Turkey, and Transcaucasia. We report the first records of this species from the North Caucasus (North Ossetia-Alania and South Ossetia). The taxonomic position, morphological characteristic, modern distribution and ecology of M. ravasinii are discussed.
